Student data, guarded.
How Thrive treats student data under COPPA and FERPA.
Last updated: July 2026
Our commitments
- No sale. Thrive never sells student personal information.
- No behavioral ads. No ad networks touch student accounts.
- Minimum data. We collect only what's needed to run the platform.
- School control. Schools own their students' data and can request export or deletion at any time.
COPPA
For users under 13, Thrive relies on school-provided consent per COPPA §312.5(c). Schools acting as agents of parents may authorize data collection strictly for the educational use of the platform.
FERPA
Thrive acts as a school official under the direct control of the school for education records shared with us.
